Aquarius’ personality
Aquarians are known for being aloof and detached. They can keep a distance from what’s going on around them, and they’re usually able to control their feelings. And this perhaps has some relevance to their symbol, the Water-carrier - which is a person carrying a container full of water, the water being symbolic of the emotions. So Aquarians don’t regard their emotions as being a fundamental part of who they are, and instead they carry them around, as a separate object - which helps explain their emotional detachment.
Overall, Aquarians put a high value on their independence. They like to do things their way, and they try their best not to follow the crowd. And their opinions can appear somewhat unusual - because they’re able to free themselves from outside influences. Aquarians can therefore be original thinkers. Their ideas might be disturbing, but if they’re put into action they can make the world a better place.
However, some Water-carriers take things too far. If they refuse to fit in, and they ignore other people’s sensibilities, they can marginalise themselves and there’s then little chance of them ever making an impact. It’s therefore important that Aquarians accept that they live amongst human beings, unless they’re happy being hermits. They don’t have to compromise their core principles, they just have to make a few token gestures to the rules and conventions of their social environment.
